2007 WIAA State Solo & Ensemble Festival

Our Woodwind Ensemble will be competing at the 2007 WIAA State Solo & Ensemble Festival:

Renee Anthony (11) – Contralto Clarinet
Stephan Draggoo (11) – Clarinet
Stacia Kline (10) – Bass Clarinet
Kaitlin Sullivan (12) - Clarinet
Jeannie Vaughn (10) – Clarinet
Danielle Warner (11) – Soprano Clarinet
Aspen Wolff (11) – Clarinet

These students will be competing against 23 other woodwind ensembles from throughout the State … there are no WIAA classifications … just head-to-head competition! The competition will be held in Ellensburg (CWU Campus) on Friday, April 27.

Results - Columbia Basin College Band Festival

The Wind Ensemble and Jazz Band competed at the Columbia Basin College Band Festival in Pasco on Friday and Saturday with the following results:

  • Wind Ensemble - Silver Medal
  • Jazz Band - Silver Medal


  • Krystal McCarthy (Senior) - Outstanding Drum Soloist (Jazz Band - "Storm Zone")
  • Samantha Rancourt (Senior) - Outstanding Trumpet Soloist (Jazz Band - "My Funny Valentine")

Area music activities

The Spokane Symphony will perform Carmina Burana, with over 200 choir members from WSU, EWU, Spokane Falls Chorale, Spokane Symphony Chorale, and the Spokane Area Children's Chorus, plus with featured guest soloists, Friday, April 13th at the INB Performing Arts Center. More information is here.
