Fall Marching Band Competition Schedule

MARCHING BAND COMPETITION DATES
Here are the dates for our 2008 Marching Band Competitions:

Cavalcade of Bands - Pasco
October 3-4 (Overnighter - Leave on Friday - Return on Saturday)

Harvest Festival of Bands - Yakima
October 17-19 (Overnighter - Leave on Friday - Return on Sunday)

Puget Sound Festival of Bands - Everett
October 24-26 (Overnighter - Leave on Friday - Return on Sunday)

Veteran's Day Festival of Bands - Auburn
November 7-9 (Overnighter - Leave on Friday - Return on Sunday)

A complete Marching Band Schedule, including all rehearsals, will be handed out on Monday, August 18, at the first day of Band Camp.

Band Camp Information - the latest!

BAND CAMP INFORMATION
Monday - August 18 (8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) @ WVHS
(Wear good shoes, bring sunscreen, a lunch and a water bottle)

Tuesday thru Friday - August 19-22 (Overnight) @ CAMP WHITE
(Check your mailboxes next week for a packet with forms to be signed by your parents - cost is $50.00 which is due with all the forms on Monday, August 18)

Monday thru Thursday - August 25-28 (5:00 - 7:30 PM) @ WVHS
(No conflict with sports or any other activities)

What we accomplish during Band Camp will contribute to the success that we ALL want to experience this fall, so we need ALL of you there.

Help needed at Camp White in August

PARENTS ... WE NEED YOUR HELP AT CAMP WHITE!
Last year was our first at Camp White and what a huge success it was ... it really set the stage for an incredible Marching Band season and carried us all the way to San Francisco gold!

Well, we're going there in just a short time AND we need your help. We're looking for parents willing to work in the kitchen preparing meals, willing to help set-up camp, willing to supervise our students when they're not with me, willing to prepare snacks before camp, and much more. If you want a chance to REALLY get to know our wonderful Band students, why not join us at Camp White?

DATES: Tuesday (August 19) through Friday (August 22)

Also, we need parents willing to prepare snacks, possibly lunch and bring drinks for our first day of Band Camp (Monday - August 18). We will be practicing at WVHS all day from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.

You may have received an automated phone call reminding you of a band rehearsal on Monday, July 7th - that rehearsal has been canceled. The automatic phone system was programmed prior to the schedule changes.

COST: $50.00 per student (includes all meals, camp fee and staff expenses)

IMPORTANCE OF YOUR COMMITMENT
Our 2008 “Cirque de Soleil” Show, with selections from the ever popular “Quidam” and “La Nouba” productions, promises to be one of our best ever! The music is high-energy, passionate, and exotic, AND the drill more demanding than ever. The show is being written for a specific number of performers, which was determined by the number of students enrolled for the 2008-2009 school year. So, it is really important that you follow through on your commitment to our award-winning Marching Band … thanks!
