Band Shirt Update
BAND SHIRT UPDATE
Parents … many of you ordered shirts at Tuesday night’s Band Booster meeting. There seems to be some confusion, so I want to clarify that you have three choices as to what information you want on the back of your shirt(s):
SHIRT #1: This shirt design will have a “Listing” of all student members on the back
(This is the OFFICIAL design for all Band students, siblings and other family members and friends)
SHIRT #2: This shirt design will have the words “Band Booster” on the back in large Orange block letters
(This design is ONLY for adults, especially those who will be chaperoning throughout the year)
SHIRT #3: This shirt design will have the words “Pit Crew” on the back in large Orange block letters
(This design is ONLY for those adults who will be setting up the sideline percussion at our competitions – contact Bill Vaughn)
You will be contacted by phone/email this weekend to clarify which design you want for your order. This order must be placed by Monday, September 22, so we can have the shirts in time for our first competition in Pasco. Also, if any of you have not ordered your shirts, I must have the order and payment in my office by next Monday, as well. Thank you.
PAPERWORK AND FEES DUE
Parents … I want to thank each of you for being so diligent in returning the paperwork and fees that are due at this time. I want to remind all of you that your student may not participate in our performances/competitions until everything is returned. Questions … please don’t hesitate to contact me: jim.loucks "at" wvsd.com
CAVALCADE OF BANDS – PASCO
Parents … I hope many of you will travel to Pasco on Saturday, October 4, to watch us compete against some of the finest high school marching bands in the Pacific Northwest. We will be marching in Prelimsbefore 10:00 AM at 1:30 pm (UPDATED time from previous posting). Finals will begin at 6:00 PM. So, wear ORANGE AND BLACK and cheer loudly … the kids love it when they hear lots of you in the stands. (More information will be sent home when I receive the Final Instructions and Schedule of Performances)
Unlike most sports teams, we have no substitutes sitting on the bench/sideline, so we really need all of you at each performance/competition. Your absence has an adverse effect on our music and marching performance, and can have an impact in whether we make Finals. Thanks.
MARCHING BAND REHEARSALS
Parents … we are entering the most crucial part of our Marching Band Season as we make changes to our show, which will, hopefully, translate into higher scores and give our students an opportunity to march in Finals. Only the 12 Marching Bands with the highest scores in Prelims make it into Finals. So, please make sure your student attends all of our rehearsals. Athletes, make sure you get to our rehearsal as soon as possible after your practice or game. We really need you there.
