WV receives "Lilac Gold Standard Award", plus video clips of the parade
You'll be pleased to know that for the 2nd year in a row, the WVHS Marching Band (Including Color Guard, Cheer Team and Dance Team) received the "Lilac Gold Standard" Award which is given to the top high school marching bands in the parade. In order to receive this award, the students must meet the high standards in at least 8 of the 11 categories. This award was only given to a few marching bands this year, as the judging was much tougher. This provides great momentum heading into our competitions in Canada next week. Thanks for your great support of my kids.

Central Valley did something a bit different. As the last band in the parade, they hung around afterwards in an encore performance near the water feature in Riverfront Park.
